BurgerFuel

Last year a partnership between WithWild, BurgerFuel, the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation and Citizen Collective was created. From this gathering a significant event was marked with the creation of a special edition Wild Heart burger. A burger built with purpose, using 100% locally sourced ingredients and consciously crafted. Wild Heart was designed to challenge the way we look at food consumption in New Zealand.

BurgerFuel

The Wild heart burger featured on menus for a limited time in 2022. Through this collaboration a total of $30,000 ($1 per burger sold) was raised through BurgerFuels nationwide chain of stores, with this amount donated to the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation to enhance its predator control work in the Nitz Valley. 50 DC200 traps were funded and recently installed, with the direct benefactors our iconic native birds namely Kiwi, Kea, Whio, Weka and Kaka

BurgerFuel New Zealands’ team is continually chipping away at their mission to minimise their environmental impact. Reducing food waste through rescuing and repurposing local food ingredients is a key focus for the brand and influences long-term menu development.
